Meet OSCCR

By Grace Hasley

The Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (OSCCR) is a department of the Division of Student Affairs. The OSCCR team works to improve students’ college experience by guiding them through difficult situations related to conflicts under the student code.

According to OSCCR Director Ben Witt, the OSCCR takes a restorative justice approach, working to “repair harm and strengthen relationships first and foremost. [The OSCCR is] here to educate students beyond the classroom to set them up for success as students and for life".

If you need assistance or need to file a report, you can do so on the OSCCR website. You can also register for a virtual workshop to learn how to avoid academic misconduct, how to navigate conflict and maintain healthy relationships, or how to make ethical decisions.

"Going through the student conduct process can help forge resilience and educate students in ways that can be transformative," says Ben Witt. "Since we utilize restorative justice, we are always willing to listen and find solutions and not punishments.”

The OSCCR aims to prevent conflicts and code violations by educating students. Its purpose isn’t to get students in trouble, but rather support students through these situations.
