Keepin' Midterms Classy
Midterms are approaching, and the GV community is cheering you on as you reach this first milestone of the year! The University Counseling Center (UCC) encourages you to stay motivated by connecting with yourself and utilizing the variety of resources available to help you along the way.
Attend your classes regularly, make studying fun by doing it with a friend, and remember your “why” for persevering through challenges. Reflect on your purpose and reignite your passions to accomplish your academic goals this fall. If you or someone you know are struggling with feelings of hopelessness or overwhelming academic anxieties, the UCC is here to help. Call (616) 331-3266 to schedule an appointment with a counselor.
We know that the balancing act between classes, studying, work and everyday life can be difficult. If you’ve fallen down the hole of missing assignments, it can be hard to pull yourself out, but GV also has the Student Academic Success Center (SASC) as an additional resource. Visit them for Drop-In Coaching or check out their online resources to be prepared, confident, motivated, and rested.
Class attendance and engagement is positively correlated with GPA so it is highly recommended to attend all classes, if possible. Connect with SASC to ensure that you are setting yourself up for success!
The SASC also has opportunities to:
• Meet with a Success Coach to chat 1-on-1 about resources and strategies
• Attend Self-Paced workshops
• Check out online Academic Skills Resources
