'Twas the Night Before Finals

Author: Bella Gielniak

‘Twas the night before finals, and all through GV,
not a student was stirring, not even Louie.
Papers were finished, submitted with care.
They all hoped not to wake to a big Blackboard scare.

Louie was studying hard for his tests.
Then he left to go home; he needed his rest.
He ran from the library, past the lit trees;
he had to move fast or his biceps would freeze.

Snow clouded his vision; he saw nothing but frost.
The wind spun him around and soon he was lost.
He ended up on top of the Cook Carillon Tower,
looking up at the sky as the clock hit the hour.

Could that be a man and a sleigh in the sky?
Pulled by eight reindeer who know how to fly?
Louie heard the man shout as they flew out of sight,
"Anchor up to all, and to all a good night!"
