On the economy and business fronts, 2025 was a year filled with uncertainty. Uncertainty abounded about tariffs, geopolitical tensions, the dichotomy between slowing growth and growing inflation, the contrast between a growing stock market and a cooling labor market. The list goes on. Not only does uncertainty make planning difficult for businesses but it also heightens the stress on employers and employees alike.
In this edition of the Seidman Business Review we shed light on some of these important topics. How to manage employee stress, how different ownership styles in family businesses can generate unity or conflict; how trade wars affect the local economy, and more. Of course, we also have our regular analysis of West Michigan stocks, the regional housing market, and our annual Grand Rapids economic forecast.
I believe that facts matter, and expertise is important. As you read this edition, you will find that we at Seidman rely on both to help address the uncertainty that surrounds us all.
