The newly formed Classics Alumni Group made bag lunches for current Classics students to help them manage the stress of final exam week. "Food for Finals" brought much-needed smiles as well as a welcome snack at a busy time.

In addition to their community performances, creating the perfect atmosphere for campus events, and free recitals and concerts, the musicians of the Music, Theatre, and Dance Department provide significant service from teaching high school musicians to make double reeds at Oboe Day to performing in a benefit concert to provide hurricane relief to Puerto Rico.

PROFESSORS HUSTLE FOR A GOOD CAUSE

Physicist Brad Ambrose has another super-power—he’s also a ballroom dancer. So when he heard about Presball Prep, a ballroom and hustle class in the Alumni House meant to give students some added confidence in their steps in time for the President’s Ball and to raise funds for the new Fostering Laker Success program, he made sure to be on hand for the January 18, 2018 event.  Movement science professor and interim dean of students Steve Glass also helped rock Alumni House.
